Alliance with genetics company Milgrows positions GrowerIQ compliance infrastructure ahead of Brazil’s August cultivation deadline
Sao Paulo, Brazil, March 18, 2026 – GrowerIQ, a cannabis compliance and operations platform powering facilities in more than 24 countries, has become the first international seed-to-sale platform to formalize operations in Brazil through a strategic alliance with Milgrows, a cannabis genetics company with six years of operations across the country.
The alliance follows Brazil’s landmark January 28 regulatory shift, when the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) established the country’s first framework authorizing cannabis cultivation. The new rules require cultivators to implement seed-to-product traceability, per-batch laboratory testing, and georeferenced facility documentation before the August 4, 2026 effective date. Unlike the United States, where states mandate specific government platforms like Metrc, Brazil requires operators to bring their own compliant tracking systems, creating immediate demand for proven international solutions.
“Brazil has 672,000 patients, over 2,000 cannabis products on the market, and until January had no legal framework for domestic cultivation. Operators have months, not years, to comply,” said Andrew Wilson, CEO of GrowerIQ. “Our alliance with Milgrows ensures our compliance expertise is adapted for Brazil’s unique regulatory and agricultural landscape from day one.”
Brazil’s medical cannabis market, valued at USD $856 million in 2025, grew 22% year-over-year and is projected to reach $1.55 billion by 2034. More than 50,000 physicians have prescribed cannabis-based treatments, and over 300 patient associations are expected to apply for cultivation rights under ANVISA’s new Regulatory Sandbox program.
“The partnership with GrowerIQ is a milestone. It is very important for us to strengthen our company’s services and boost the Brazilian cannabis market with cutting-edge cultivation technology, improve productivity in various biomes, guarantee quality and traceability, and expand our offering to clients in various segments. GrowerIQ contributes greatly to the professionalization of the sector and the sustainable growth of the market,” said Gerson, agribusiness consultant at Milgrows.
Milgrows, founded in 2019, curates over 560 cultivars from six international seed banks and provides cultivation consulting to growers across Brazil. GrowerIQ’s platform supports country-level traceability in more than 24 countries and seven languages.
